How To Clean Cloudy Ninja Blender
Is your blender grimy? Is there a film on the inside of the container? My vitamix was covered in smoothie gunk and hard water stains. I had forgotten how nice it looked when I bought it. I follow the regular cleaning routine which is a drop of dish soap, some water, and then let it run for a while. The smoothie gunk still built up. My vitamix needed a deep cleaning. After thinking about it for a bit, it turned out to be quick and easy.
The smoothie and hard water stains on the inside. Yuck. They didn't want to come off with a scrubbing either. I needed something a bit stronger, but I didn't want to use harsh chemicals. I use vinegar to remove the hard water build up on my shower head, so I thought it would work on the vitamix as well.
Baking soda and vinegar to the rescue! I poured about 1 cup of white vinegar in and then at least a 1/4 cup of baking soda. It fizzed and bubbled almost up to the top. Once the bubbling subsided, I added two cups of water and let it run on high for several minutes. I was waiting for steam to come out the top. After about 5-7 minutes, it was steaming as the water/vinegar mix inside was boiling.
A quick rinse and nearly all of the stains were gone. I used a small brush and the rest easily rubbed off. For good measure, I ran it through again with soap as well. When I was done, it was looking brand new again. Awesome!
